Midcoast Conservancy
The mission of Midcoast Conservancy is to protect vital lands and waters on a scale that matters and to inspire wonder and action on behalf of all species and the earth.
We envision a world where our lands and waters are healthy and protected and where nature occupies a place of central importance in every person's life.
In 2016, four local land trusts and conservation organizations merged to become Midcoast Conservancy. In January of 2019, we welcomed a new group to the family: Medomak Valley Land Trust. Together, our five founding organizations have become one of the largest regional conservation organizations in Maine, with over 12,000 acres of land conserved.
By joining forces, we can do more to care for the Sheepscot River, Damariscotta Lake and the Medomak River from source to sea. Keeping these three jewels healthy is crucial for wildlife, fisheries, climate resiliency and local economies.
